History





The Cubs, first known as the White Stockings, were a founding member of the NL in 1876, becoming the Chicago Cubs in 1903. In 1907 the Cubs claimed their first World Series title, beating Tigers 2-0 behind pitching of Mordecai Brown. In 1908 the Cubs became first team to win back-to-back World Series, beating Detroit. In 2016, the Cubs won their first World Series in 108 years.
